I am the proverbial avid reader and foodie wannabe. I live in Colorado where there are just enough distractions to provide good excuses for not being a more committed writer.
I like reading and I like eating — sometimes at the same time. I like writing, too, but that’s harder to do while pursuing those other interests. Through this blog I plan to share reviews (of around 250 words each) about what I’ve read or where I’ve eaten. It’s unlikely I will review the meals cooked by me, family members or friends — unless I can’t help it. It’s also improbable that I’ll review books written by family members and friends.
I read much more frequently and quickly than I dine out, so there are apt to be more books reviews. If you’ve read something I’ve reviewed, let me know what you think.
Thank you for taking a look at The Blue Page Special!
The rating scale for books:
Five bookmarks = Unable to put it down
Four bookmarks = Sorry to have it end
Three bookmarks = Worth reading
Two bookmarks = Reminiscent of required reading

The rating scale for restaurants:

Four plates = Better than Mom’s
Three plates = Good enough for a return visit
Two plates = Hunger triumphs taste
One plate = Ties with a vending machine

Robin,
This is a great blog, and my first one visited. Great lay out and love the idea of food and books. I especially like the book reviews, since it gives me ideas of new books to read. Cheers,
alice
Beautifully put together–fun and interesting posts!
Thanks for the read and feed info! I especially love the visuals and the length of the book to help me decide if I want to get it at the library or buy it on my Kindle. I know you are an avid reader and I appreciate the heads-up on new and different books.
You rock…. Claudia
Hi, I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. I enjoy your blog and hope you don’t mind that I included a link to it on my post Blog-O-Rama.
Thank you, Honie! I appreciate this very much — and the feeling is mutual!
Hi! i’ve nominated you for the Creative Blogger Award. No pressure but it’d be something fun to do! Thanks!

Robin,
Bec connected me with your blog. Congratulations. You write on topics I also enjoy- reading and eating!! Is there a way to sign my up for it with e-mail notifications?
I was sorry not to be able to attend Uncle Merton’s Memorial Service. On the same day we were celebrating Lee’s father’s 90th birthday for which plans had been in “the works” for months. It was a very special gathering with all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in attendance. Since I was unable to be at the service, I am looking forward to spending a couple of days next week in Canon City to spend some time with Jeff and Aunt Marge and look forward to finding out all about your gathering and my time with them.
Best wishes to you, Randy and entire family. If you are ever in the New York/ Connecticut area let us know, we’d love to connect. Hugs to all. Deb ( Randy’s cousin)
Hi Deb, Thanks for reading my blog — and thank you to Bec for sharing the link. You should be able to receive email notices by clicking on the Follow button on the left side of the screen just below Archives. That’s great that you’ll be in Canon City; I’m sure it will be appreciated.
Robin,
What is the process for a review?

JD, Are you asking to have your book reviewed here? I am old school when it comes to books, so I don’t read ebooks. Thanks for checking.
